Young Auckland ‘keepers to benefit from new partnership between academies

Young goalkeepers in Auckland are going to benefit from a new partnership formed between the Ricki Herbert Football Academy and the One Stop Goalkeeping Academy.

RHFA Technical Director Kale Herbert said he was excited to confirm the partnership as “it will give our Auckland-based goalkeepers a great opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge.”

One Stop’s founder and head coach is Ruben Parker, recently named as the goalkeeper coach of the New Zealand U-17 team.

Ruben Parker said: “We are proud to announce an Auckland partnership with the Ricki Herbert Football Academy to oversee their goalkeeper development.”

Parker (25) has represented New Zealand at U-20 level and has played at the highest domestic level of football for the last four years. He’s currently with one of Auckland’s leading clubs, Western Springs.

One Stop’s assistant coach is Cameron Brown (21) who plays for Central United (winter) and Auckland City (summer) and has represented New Zealand at two U-20 World Cups was was first choice ‘keeper for the national U-23s in their Olympic Games qualifying series.
