Two teams representing the Ricki Herbert Football Academy face a busy week on and off the football pitch with their tour to Victoria, Australia.

Teams of U-12 and U-13 players have left for Melbourne to start a schedule that sees them visit sports centres such as the MCG Complex, the Darebin International Sports Centre at Thornbury and the Western United club.

Both teams will also participate in the 2019 AFS Shepparton Cup tournament which attracts more than 300 teams from across Australia.

The RHFA teams are the only entrants from New Zealand.

To prepare for the tournament, the teams play warm-up games at Monash University (Thursday) when the U-12 team plays Glen Eira, followed by the U-13’s game against Ringwood City.

For the Shepparton tournament, the U-12s are in the same preliminary group as Meadow Park, West Point and Whittlesea Ranges.

The U-13s are grouped with West Point, Shepparton and Bundoora United.
