Ricki Herbert: Junior All Whites need ‘meaningful international programme’

Former All Whites coach Ricki Herbert has called for New Zealand Football to create a “meaningful international programme” to build on the national under-20 team’s World Cup success, reports Stuff.co.nz.

Herbert – who led the All Whites to an unbeaten record at the 2010 World Cup finals – is excited at the potential in Des Buckingham’s squad after their progress to the round of 16 at the World Cup in Poland.

But the former All Whites centreback said it was now up to New Zealand Football to find a way to maintain the group’s development and “challenge them” at a higher level.
