Three teams representing the RH3 Football Academy are heading to Melbourne to take part in the prestigious Shepparton Cup tournament.

Two U-14 boys’ teams and an U-15 side will participate in the three day tournament that draws clubs and academies from across Australia.

RH3 founder Ricki Herbert said: “The Shepparton Cup is a fantastic event and an ideal opportunity for all of our players to compete in a very strong environment and to continue the ongoing development and learnings in their football journeys.”

The New Zealand academy sent teams to the tournament in 2017 and 2019 but this year is the first opportunity to return since disruption caused by the COVID pandemic.

Before the tournament starts on Friday October 20, 2023, the RH3 touring party will be based in central Melbourne and will enjoy visits to A-League clubs Melbourne City and Western United.

The academy teams will play warm-up games against sides from the two A-League clubs, as well as enjoy tours of their facilities.

The tour has been organised with the help of Travel4Football.
