Talented young footballers from all around New Zealand are heading to Cambridge this weekend for a five-day national training camp to be held by the Ricki Herbert Football Academy.
Camp convenor Clive Herbert said the response to the camp had been fantastic with players registering to attend coming from Auckland in the north and from as far south as Invercargill.
“It’s the first time we’ve held such a camp in Cambridge and the response from players and their parents has been very supportive,” he said. “I want to thank all of them who have made it possible to get together for what’s going to be a great week.”
The camp, for boys and girls aged 11-17, will be hosted by academy founder Ricki Herbert and academy coaches. It runs from Sunday April 17 – Thursday April 21.
Players will have daily sessions at the award-winning Cambridge Football Club and be accommodated at the nearby St Peter’s School.
