Fulham coach: ‘It’s important to develop the person, not just the footballer.’

Fulham FC academy coach Dave Wright says he’s enjoyed working with young New Zealand players in his series of coaching sessions with the Ricki Herbert Football Academy.

New Zealander Wright, who is building a coaching career with English championship club Fulham, attended training camps in Taupo, and held indoor and outdoor sessions with players.

In an interview with RHFA’s Clive Herbert, Wright said Fulham’s philosophy was to help young players develop holistically, helping to develop them as people, not just as footballers.

He said he was pleased to see a similar philosophy at RHFA.
