Camp enters final stages

After working hard on and off the pitch since Sunday, the players at this year’s National Training Camp in Cambridge are winding up their residential camp with some fun activities.

After intensive pitch work on Day Four, the boys and girls moved indoors at Cambridge’s John Kerkhof Park (see above) for a brief football quiz (the prizes were muffins!), before heading to St Peter’s School for an afternoon session in the swimming pool.

About 40 players aged 11-17 are enjoying themselves at the five-day camp in Cambridge, with players having travelled from as far north as Whangarei and from as far south as Invercargill.

By Day Four, the players have got to know each other and a benefit of the camp is the confidence gained from forming friendships through football and sharing experiences with other players from different backgrounds.

Tomorrow, the players head home, no doubt tired after a fun but challenging week, and ready to put their latest learnings into action on and off the pitch.
