More than 200 young players have gathered in Hamilton for the Ricki Herbert Football Academy’s annual national camp – the largest held so far.

With a strong contingent from the South Island, boys and girls have travelled from around the North Island to attend the four-day event at the grounds of St Paul’s Collegiate, Hamilton.

Academy founder Ricki Herbert was delighted with the strong support for the camp which gives players and coaches the best opportunity to work on development, on and off the pitch.

Attendance at the camp has grown significantly over the past three years:

Last year’s camp was attended by 160 players, compared to about 100 in 2019 and 65 the year before.
