A team representing the Ricki Herbert Football Academy has won Christchurch United’s 14th grade boys’ tournament.

After flying to Christchurch, the squad played a warm-up game against Nomads AFC and then had a training day in the rain.

In the tournament, the team won their group, and then progressed through the knockout stages to then win the final 4-1 against host club Christchurch United.

Thanks to all the players’ families and supporters for making this tour possible.

Congratulations to Charlie Hale for winning the Golden Boot trophy for most goals scored.
Poor weather didn’t prevent the squad from training hard before the start of the tournament.
